Connect Telegram

Your support bot can answer customers on Telegram with the same knowledge base and AI key as your website chat. It takes about two minutes and Telegram bots are free.

You make your own Telegram bot

There is no shared Techvea bot. Every customer creates their own bot in Telegram, with their own name, picture and username, and connects it with their own token. Messages from your customers go only to your bot and your dashboard, and you can revoke the token in @BotFather whenever you like.

Step 1. Create the bot in Telegram

You need a Telegram account to do this. Creating the account needs a phone number and the Telegram phone app once. After that you can use Telegram Desktop or web.telegram.org on a laptop.

  1. Open @BotFather (the official bot, with a blue tick).
  2. Send /newbot.
  3. Choose a display name, for example “Acme Support”.
  4. Choose a username. It must be unique and end in bot, for example acme_support_bot.
  5. BotFather replies with a token that looks like 123456789:AAH…. Copy it.

Treat the token like a password

Anyone with it can control your bot. Paste it only into your Techvea dashboard, never into a chat, email or public page. If it leaks, send /revoke to @BotFather and connect the new token.

Step 2. Paste it into Techvea

  1. In your dashboard, open your bot.
  2. Open the Channels tab and find the Telegram card.
  3. Paste the token and press Connect.
  4. A green “Connected” message appears with the link to your bot, for example https://t.me/acme_support_bot.

Telegram is available on the Starter plan and above.

Step 3. Try it

  1. Open your bot's link in Telegram and press Start.
  2. Ask something your knowledge base answers, then something it does not.
  3. The conversation shows up in your dashboard conversations. A question the bot cannot answer is handed off like on the website, and your reply from the ticket inbox goes back to the customer in Telegram.

Good to know

  • Replace the token any time by pasting a new one and pressing Update. Disconnect stops the bot answering.
  • Give the bot a picture and description in @BotFather with /setuserpic and /setdescription so customers recognize it.
  • The AI cost comes from your own AI key, as on your website. Telegram itself charges nothing.

Switch to the support bot that costs less and does more

Bigger names charge more for the same thing and mark up every AI reply. Techvea runs on your own AI key, so you pay your AI provider's price and nothing on top.
